  Il LIBE, Comitato sulle Libertà Civili, Giustizia e Interni del
  Parlamento Europeo organizza un seminario interessante che sarà
  possibile seguire anche in rete come vedete dai link, mi sembra una

  Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs

the LIBE committee will organise a seminar on

 *Data Protection on the Internet (Google-DoubleClick and other
case studies*) next *Monday  from 15:00- 18:30 in room 3 C50.*

This seminar aims to be a working meeting during which we will hear from
the industry and consumer representatives and data protection
authorities their views on the growing concern on data protection on the
Internet, the development of ever more powerful search engines and the
strong link between free services and multi-billion advertising markets.

These issue have been recently discussed several times by  the  US
Congress and by the Federal Trade Commission  who  decided on a merger
between Google and DoubleClick.

The US decision explicitly declares  not to take into acount  the
privacy related  aspects.  In Europe, these aspects  fall  under the
responsibilities of the national data protection authorities,  of which
some of them (Spanish, Dutch and Italian) having already taken
positions on this issue and under the responsibiliy of the EU
legislators.

 Given the transatlantic dimension of this issue,  we have invited a
representative of the Federal Trade Commission.

You can find attached the latest version of the programme  that is still
subject to change  before the meeting
